Buraco Canasta GameVelvet brings together Canasta, Buraco, Brazilian Tranca, and several other card game variations in one app. You can play these card games online for free, and no registration is required to start your first match. The collection is designed for both amateur and professional card players who want quick access to different Buraco styles.
Buraco rules at a glance
Buraco is played by four participants in two duos, seated in alternate positions at the table. The game uses two traditional 52-card decks, and each player receives 11 cards plus two extra hands. The objective is to score more than the opposing duo through melds and bonus combinations. A meld is three or more cards in numeric order from the same suit, such as 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Clubs. Aces can be used before the two or after the king, and you can add more cards to an existing meld during the match. All 2's serve as trump cards and can replace any card in a meld, which opens up flexible combinations that would otherwise be impossible with a natural run.
Going out happens when you run out of cards in hand. The extra hand is drawn by the first player from a duo to go out. Direct going out means you meld every card without discarding, then grab the extra pile and keep playing. Indirect going out leaves one card to discard, then you pick up the extra pile on your next turn.
Canasta scoring and special hands
A Canasta is a meld of seven or more cards in sequence from the same suit. There are three types: Natural (no trumps), Mixed (using trumps), and 1000's (Ace to Ace without trumps). The discard pile and leftover pack of cards give you additional ways to keep the game moving after the initial distribution.
Scoring rewards aggressive play: going out gives 100 points, a 2 is worth 10 points, cards from 8 to King are 10 points each, cards from 3 to 7 are 5 points each, and Aces are 15 points each. Natural and Mixed Canastas are worth 100 points, while a 1000's Canasta jumps to 1000 points, making it the biggest scoring swing in most matches.
Game modes and online features
Besides standard Buraco, the app includes Canasta, Brazilian Tranca, Burraco 1x1, and four other Canasta variations. You can play against real players online or against robots offline, in couple or individual formats. This is a card game collection built for both short training rounds and longer sessions with friends.
The interface keeps things readable, with clear cards and straightforward menus, and the lounges group players by game type so you can find a table that matches your skill level. Beyond the match itself, the community lounges give you access to hundreds of real players worldwide. The game also supports offline play, which helps when you want to practice against bots or simply do not have an internet connection available. Buraco Canasta GameVelvet is a solid pick if you want a single place to play Buraco and related card games, from short break sessions to longer evening matches.
